Embracing Holistic Care: Narin’s Journey at TLC
Introducing Narin Nedjat, the vibrant Allied Health Practice Manager at Tender Loving Care Disability Services. With a tenure of three enriching months at TLC, Narin brings a fresh perspective and boundless enthusiasm to the organisation. “I’m really enjoying it — working with the different staff members and the participants,” she beams, reflecting the passion that fuels her role.
In her capacity, Narin witnessed firsthand the transformative power of TLC’s therapies. “It’s a very rewarding role. We have one-on-one contact with the participant, and we see that our therapies are working. We engage in holistic care, so seeing that directly implemented in their lives is very rewarding,” she shares with a warm smile. This dedication to holistic care sets the foundation for TLC’s approach, ensuring every facet of a participant’s well-being is addressed.
A Multidisciplinary Approach: TLC’s Unique Team Dynamic
The heart of TLC lies in its diverse and multidisciplinary team, with each member contributing unique skills and expertise. “Our team is made up of practitioners and clinicians from different disciplines within allied health. [We have physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and mental health experts],” Narin explains. This harmonious blend of specialisations ensures that participants receive comprehensive care tailored to their needs.
At TLC, it’s not just about individual care; but collective progress. “When we’re caring for our participant, we do it as a whole, and our main aim is to achieve their goals and also get family, friends, and their support workers involved in the entire process,” Narin emphasises. The inclusion of a participant’s support network amplifies the impact of TLC’s interventions, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.
Crafting Strategies for Daily Triumphs
Narin’s approach to therapies is marked by meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to leaving no aspect overlooked. “The way we engage in our therapies via holistic care, we make sure that we cover every aspect when we’re coming up with strategies to help participants engage in daily life,” she says. This comprehensive outlook means that participants not only experience progress but also find sustainable strategies to navigate their day-to-day routines.
As we reflect on Labour Day, TLC celebrates Narin Nedjat, an invaluable asset to the team, whose dedication to holistic care paves the way for countless individuals to thrive. Her passion, coupled with TLC’s multidisciplinary approach, exemplifies the organisation’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of every participant.
To Narin, being an Allied Health Practice Manager is not just a job; it’s a fulfilling journey towards making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. With leaders like Narin, TLC stands poised to continue its mission of spreading care, compassion, and empowerment in the disability services sector.
